FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- A platform that brings together everything foreign travelers and foreign residents in Korea need for daily life, so anyone can use it easily. Just ask the AI assistant and it will search for places or even plan your whole trip for you, and snapping a photo with the camera translates it instantly. Daily-updated exchange rates, map info for restaurants and hospitals, tourist attractions, concert schedules, job postings, visa/labor info, the community board, and help requests — it is all available in one app.
- During the 7-day grace period after you request withdrawal, you can restore your account by signing in again. After 7 days, all your data, including the posts and comments you wrote, is permanently deleted automatically and cannot be recovered. However, records that must be kept by law, such as payment records, are kept separately from your account for the required period.
- Yes. Browsing the home screen, the board/help requests/jobs, the map, life guides, and search all work without signing in. Writing posts, commenting, liking, bookmarking, and posting job listings require signing up with email or a social account; with guest sign-in you can browse, use the AI Assistant, report, contact us, subscribe, and apply for ads.
- K-lifeon isn't liable for disputes arising from direct peer-to-peer trades or job arrangements between users (we're not a party to the transaction). Abusive language, personal attacks, and hate speech are also prohibited — violations may result in post removal or usage restrictions. See the 'Community & Secondhand Board Policy' (My info > Terms & policies) for details.
- You can use the AI assistant with no limit on questions, and app banner ads are not shown. You can subscribe only in the K-lifeon app.
- Just ask in natural language — it can find places like marts, restaurants, and hospitals, recommend tourist attractions, and answer questions about concert schedules, job postings, visa/labor info, daily-updated exchange rates, weather, and directions. It can even put multiple stops together into a one-day itinerary for you.
- Answers about places, exchange rates, and weather are based on live data and information registered on K-lifeon. However, please use visa/labor-related information for reference only — we recommend double-checking exact procedures with the relevant authorities, such as Hi Korea.
- Yes. When you are signed in with an email or social account, tap the star (bookmark) button on the place card in the response to save it. You can view saved places again under Bookmarks in My Page.
- No, it doesn't refill automatically. Once you've used all 5 free questions, you can keep going in the app by watching an ad or subscribing to the monthly membership.
- Yes — use the Camera OCR Translation feature on the home screen to photograph signs, menus, notices, and more, and get an instant translation into Korean, English, or Thai — whichever you choose.
- Core features like location info (marts, restaurants, hospitals), the community board, and the map are exactly the same for free and subscribed members. The difference is how you use the AI assistant — free members watch an ad in the app after their first 5 questions, while subscribers get unlimited use with no ads.
- Each account gets 5 free questions. After that, in the app you can watch a rewarded ad to the end to get 1 more question each time (up to 20 a day; not available on the website). If you subscribe to the monthly membership in the app, you can use it without ads and without limits.
- Life Guide offers 19 guides to living in Korea written by K-lifeon (alien registration, hospitals and pharmacies, transport, sending money home, driving, preparing for holidays and more), plus an upcoming public holiday calendar, visa/labor info, and dining-out prices by region — all in Thai, Korean, and English. Log in to bookmark any guide and revisit it later.
- No. You apply for an ad in the K-lifeon app, the Company reviews it for compliance with our operating policy and applicable law, and only approved ads can be paid for. Once approved, pay with app store in-app purchase in the app (My info > Ad orders); the ad runs for 1 month as soon as payment is confirmed. If review is not finished within 7 days of applying, or you do not pay within 14 days of approval, the application closes without any charge. Even after publication, display may be stopped if the content turns out to be inappropriate.
- There are four: home promotion card, top-exposure ad, job ad, and business promotion; paid products are each for 1 month. Prices include VAT, and you apply and pay in the K-lifeon app (app store in-app purchase). See the Advertise page for details.
- Ad products are paid with app store in-app purchase, so withdrawals and refunds follow each store's policy and procedure first (Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com; other app stores: the order history in that store's app). Because the ad starts running as soon as payment is made, if you agreed to this before paying, withdrawal may be restricted for the part already provided. If we cannot run your ad after payment for reasons on our side, we will let you know and help with the refund request. For help, contact Customer Support (Contact Us). See the Refund Policy for details.
- Tap the "Directions" button on a place card to open it directly in the Naver Map app. If the app isn't installed, it automatically falls back to the web version.
- It comes from public data released by Korean public institutions — the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (business licenses), the Small Enterprise and Market Service (store data), the Korea Tourism Organization, the National Medical Center, Industrial Bank of Korea and Korea Post — and is refreshed periodically. Opening hours or phone numbers may be missing or out of date, so please check before you visit. If you spot outdated or incorrect info (or a place that's closed down), let us know via the "Suggest an edit" button on that place's card.
- If a business name was recently changed or hasn't been registered on Naver Map yet, the search may not find it. In this case, tap the "Copy Address" button on the screen to copy the address, then search by that address in the Naver Map app or website to easily find the location.
- It's peer-to-peer — you contact the poster directly from a board listing. K-lifeon doesn't act as a payment or shipping intermediary and isn't a party to the transaction.
- K-lifeon is not a party to trades between users (we only help users connect for direct trades) and isn't liable for losses from direct trades between users. For serious issues like fraud, please use the report feature — we'll review and take action.
- Job post authors must comply with relevant laws such as the Employment Security Act and the Immigration Control Act, and are personally legally responsible for any violation (K-lifeon is only an information-posting platform and doesn't directly broker jobs). If a post contains any of the following, banned keywords are automatically detected and the post is held in the admin review queue rather than being published right away (it isn't deleted immediately — an administrator reviews it first), and repeated attempts result in a usage restriction: (1) hiring for massage parlors, karaoke rooms, or adult entertainment venues, (2) wording implying employment of undocumented workers, like 'visa not required,' (3) demanding a referral fee/commission or a passport/ID as collateral, (4) any other hiring condition that clearly violates relevant law. Recruiting posts must include the business name and contact details (phone or email); P.O. boxes can't be used. If the hourly or monthly pay appears to be below the minimum wage, the post is published only after administrator review. Job posts can be written only by members who signed up with email or a social account.
